Where Concept Becomes Reality
Published:  17 October, 2008

The BPA Concept stand will once again be celebrating the latest innovative products and design concepts recognised by our award programme for 2008. These designs have incredible potential to succeed in the market place. Whilst a few are still in the early stages of design and development, others are close to production and launch.

The Baby Products Association is pleased to announce the finalists for BPA Concept 2008 and they are;

  • Lynda Harding with Easidream
  • Tilly Beazeley and Phil Jackson with The Wean Machine
  • Sophie King and Alison Raphael with The Snooze Chair
  • Peter Dabbs with Tux
Choosing the finalists within this programme is always a difficult task let alone choosing a winner. However the judges are excited by their final decision. We were once again delighted by the response and the quality of entries to this year's BPA Concept 2008. Shortlisted entrants were invited to a venue in London to present their products to the judging panel, explaining what had prompted them to conceive the idea and how they developed the concept. Naturally the judges were keen to know how the designs would address any safety concerns and if they had the potential to comply with any relevant product safety standards or regulations. Assessing their potential in the market place and commercial viability was also an important factor in the overall judging process. Members of the judging panel were;

  • Robert Anslow, Safety Consultant
  • Anne Smith, Safety Consultant
  • Colin Pattison, Sales and Marketing Consultant, CPC
  • Jonathan Deacon, Senior Lecturer in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Newport Business School.
  • Peter White, Chief Executive, BPA
This is an exciting opportunity for the finalists and they are eager to showcase their inventions to the nursery industry and welcome feedback as they take their products forward.

Don't forget to visit the BPA Concept stand to see the new concepts on display and to hear first hand, how our inventors were inspired to create them. The winner of BPA Concept 2008 will be presented with the award and cash prize at the show on Monday 13th October.
