He persevered and had a custom pair manufactured for his infant – and thus was born the first BabyBanz prototype, incorporating the winning features carried through to this day: High quality polycarbonate lenses and frame, Category 3 UV 400 filters on the lenses, close fitting moulded frames that don’t allow direct or reflected UV radiation to reach the infants’ eyes from the edges, an adjustable neoprene strap which ensures a secure yet comfortable fit. BabyBanz became an instant hit in their native city and by the end of 2001 they were available throughout Australia.

BabyBanz sunglasses were launched in the UK by Sunproof in 2002 and have become the trusted brand leader in infant eye protection.

BabyBanz sunglasses are available in 12 fashion colours and two sizes covering ages 0- 5 years+.

The BabyBanz accessories range includes matching cotton sun hats, nylon lycra legionnaire hats and sunglasses cases. The popular BabyBanz Sun Pack includes sunglasses, sun hat and a bottle of Australian made Toddler Milk roll-on sunscreen, all in a handy carry case. The BabyBanz Sun Pack provides excellent UV protection for a child’s eyes, head and skin.

BabyBanz launched a new UV protective swimwear range in 2006. This range is available in one piece sunsuits and two piece sets, from ages three months to eight years.

All Banz swimwear is UPF50+ rated.

New from BabyBanz for 2007, Retro Banz sunglasses combine fashion, fun and functionality, and are designed to the same high standards as the classic BabyBanz range – to effectively protect childrens’ vulnerable eyes from the damaging effects of UV radiation.
