When a baby arrives, it's a Whole New World

When Donna Compton had her family, she became very aware that many of the products she was using were not really designed to make life easier for her and her children. So she set about designing her own. The result is the innovative range from Whole New World, designed to make life easier for both mum and baby.

New for 2008 is the Multishade in cream edged with either pink or blue. “So many shades are in dark colours which is not what many Mums want. However, getting the required high sun protection isn't that easy but we have succeeded!” says Donna. The original Multishade has been a best seller but we expect the new colour to be even more popular!”

The Easy Change Changing mat is not just another changing bag. “Yes it has plenty of pockets and can easily fit onto any pram. What makes it stand out, though, is that it completely unzips to give a changing bag surrounded by the two halves of the bag. Baby is held in place and everything is immediately to hand.” The Easy Change Bag is available in a wide range of designs to suit everyone's choice and sells at a very affordable retail price of £39.99.

The Double Sided Spoon is something very unusual! “When a child is learning to feed themselves, one thing they often have difficulty with is knowing which way to hold the spoon. So many children get frustrated when the food they have so carefully scooped up slides off the back of the spoon!” Donna explained. “So our spoon has a spoon on top and a spoon underneath.” The spoon comes with the Easy Feed Bowl, with its unique slope to make feeding easier.

Another unusual product is the Twinny Feeding System - food in one, juice in the other; or boiled water in one and formula in the other or… Fantastic for travelling, it simply clicks apart so no more jars, bowls or hassle.

Still in the range of feeding products is the Tip N Sip Cup. Learning to drink on your own is hard for a baby so the Tip N Sip cup features a little bit of magic when the cup is sloped inside to allow the liquid to get straight to the spout. This educates the child to understand not to tip the cup when the lid is removed. Less tipping, less mess!

Launching in 2008 is the Apple of My Eye, the very latest in monitor technology. Aimed at a retail price of £99.99, it has everything a mum could wish for in a monitor. Naturally, it will pick up baby's cries but it also has a built in camera with night vision, giving crystal clear pictures on a colour screen. It measures the room temperature and humidity. It measures motion to ensure baby is breathing. But what makes the Apple of My Eye stand out from the crowd is that it also monitors baby's temperature without wires. The sensor is contained in a towelling wrist or ankle band together with a small transmitter which send the signal to the baby unit. All the data is sent digitally to the very attractive parent unit. The two units are paired in the factory so there is no chance of picking up other transmissions.

Whole New World is expanding. “We now have nine staff based in the UK and more in China who ensure compliance with standards and oversee all areas of manufacture. All our products are Bisphenol A and phthalate free. Many parents are not even aware of the many problems that could exist. It is up to us to ensure that our products are the safest and the best that we can achieve. We are always looking for new products and 2008 will see the introduction of many more, so keep in touch!”
