Well summer is over - not that it was much this year! Sales of parasols must be at an all time low! So we can forget about holidays for another year. Or can we? Holidays are now taken all year round. If it's not skiing in February, it's a couple of weeks in the Caribbean. Parents with small children often take advantage of early season low prices and even in the autumn there are still those of us who try for at least a short break of some sort. Then there's all those trips to visit parents who are no longer likely to be living around the corner. So the holiday season never really goes away.
But there are times when you need to do promotions, to push a product category and the prime time for pushing holidays has to be the Spring. Promotions, however, take planning.
Firstly, what products are you going to promote? Is it going to be more of the same things as you sold last year? How well did those go? Can you do any better? Should you try something different? The next couple of pages should give you some ideas. Perhaps you could focus on the sunshine - sun protection gear can include clothes with a high protection from UV rays - both A and B are important remember. Even babies can wear sunglasses now; but they have to be specially designed for them, nothing too hard and of course, totally unbreakable. Then there's the pool. Swimwear doesn't have to be boring. It can also look good at the same time as helping keep the little ones safe. Add a couple of buckets and a spade and all you need is the sand and the sea.
And of course, a bit of sun would be nice!
