September and October are very busy months for the nursery trade with all the exhibitions.
Published:  01 October, 2007

Firstly there is ABC in Las Vegas. I didn't go myself but the general feeling was that it was quiet, although it appears that many of those that did attend were spending and that orders taken were good.

The next show on the calendar was Kind und Jugend which started only a few days later, just enough time to recuperate after all the talking, drinking and jet lag, though for some all the talking and drinking in Cologne's bars took their toll!

Kind und Jugend is a very important show on the world stage and Nursery Industry was there to bring you all the news and gossip - pity we can't print the story about you-know who!!!! Not only was the Ni team trying to speak to everyone who was there (no mean feat when you realise the size of the show) but we were also trying to complete this issue of Nursery Industry.

For many reasons, some companies are only just deciding to exhibit at BPA Baby and Child and we have managed to squeeze some of them into our show Supplement. Doubtless there will be more taking the plunge although we understand that there isn't a great deal of room left. Neither is there a lot of time for planning and late comers will miss out on a lot of pre-show publicity.

However, many exhibitors have taken the opportunity to tell you, our readers, what they will be showing. Nursery Industry is delighted that we are able to help a number of companies break into this trade by sponsoring the Launchpad. The Launchpad is the place where you will find the new and the different - and for many of you that is what a trade show is all about.

It is sad to learn that some familiar faces will be missing. From Nursery Industry Abi Hancock has been lured away by the bright lights of London. We understand Janet Houston has left Dutailer to work for an upholstery company, and that Miles Johnson has left Babydan. We wish them, and any others, the best of luck.
