Twelve independent retailers from stores across the country are celebrating achieving their Graco Gold Award after completing a comprehensive training course at Graco's UK headquarters, Fradley Park, Staffordshire.
As well as offering further information on Graco products, the course provides retailers with an in depth knowledge of car seat legislation and fitting. Training Manager for Graco, John Thompson, comments: “The Graco training program is structured into three tiers; Bronze, Silver and Gold, and aims to help support our retailers by arming them with all the knowledge they need to offer an informed and efficient consumer service. Once a retailer has achieved their Bronze and Silver awards, they are then invited to attend the Gold course, where they are trained as specialists in car seat legislation and the fitting of Graco car seats. We also teach them how to identify a consumer's needs, how to spot a badly fitted car seat and recognise the suitability of the different car seat categories.”
Lynne Owen, Manager of Baby Barn in Anglesey added: “As a retailer the advice we give our customers has to be as accurate as possible, particularly in relation to safety products such as car seats. Training schemes such as Graco's are absolutely invaluable in helping keep our knowledge up to date so that we can be confident in our sales.”
John concludes: “After successfully completing the course, the retailer is then recognised by Graco as a priority stockist for their area. Any retailer looking to participate in the scheme should contact us now.”
