While the UK birth-rate continues to rise, the folk at Tommee Tippee have been enjoying a mini baby boom of their own. Since March no fewer than ten babies have been born to members of staff at North-East based Jackel International with another due at Christmas and the 12th early in 2008 - five to Tommee Tippee mums and five to dads.
The boom covers all departments - IT's David Thorp (Emily), Quality's Mark Envy (Leilah), Finance's Alastair Hill (Cameron), Trade Marketing's Jon Wells (Megan) and David Akerman, Intellectual Property Manager (Edie).
For the girls there was Demand Planning's Kirsty Trainor (Emma), National Account Manager Helen Scandle ( Georgie), Careline Manager Hayley Charlton (Zak), Finance's Alison Bulmer (Josh) and Export Marketing Manager Andrea Harburn (Alox).
To tell you the truth, we're reeling a bit' said PR Manager Avril Deane. 'But all the babies are so gorgeous we feel very blessed. People keep asking whether there's something in the water here but we think it's because they think that Tommee Tippee's Closer to Nature range is so great that they can't wait to use it,' said Avril. 'And of course it means we always have testers at close hand.'
