Where and when were you born and what sort of childhood did you have?
I was born in a beautiful, smalll Austrian city called Graz in 1971, the same city where Arnold Schwarzenegger comes from. I was the first of three children and the heaviest baby girl born that day in the hospital.
What were you like at school?
I really enjoyed school, it was lots of fun and I liked most subjects with the exception of Latin which I really hated.
Did you go to university, if so which one?
I went to the University of Business Administration in Vienna and to the Haas School of Business, University of California in Berkeley (USA) for my business undergraduate and MBA degrees.
What were your early ambitions?
As a business student I wanted to learn everything necessary to manage a business and be my own boss. My family is quite entrepreneurial, my great grandfather was a serial inventor, my grandfather ran his own textile shops and edited a newspaper. My grandmother was a teacher.
How did you current business come about?
I noticed that my children loved to pull on my hair, my earrings and necklace and my husband's tie when he came home after work. I wanted to buy playful accessories which we could wear so that our children could safely play with them to keep them entertained when they were in our arms. I was very surprised as all my friends experienced the same thing but nothing was available in the marketplace.
What do you do when you're not working?
I like spending time with my husband and my two children, going to parks or visiting friends. Also I enjoy travelling to South America and Asia and skiing in Austria. Although I must admit that I am propably the only Austrian who is not a natural skier. On my last skiing trip I managed to tear my inner ligaments because I didn't realise that there was a river going through the off piste slope. And as I had forgotten my glasses I didn't see it!
What aspect of your life are you most proud of?
My two children - they make me smile each morning when I see them. I get lots of hugs and kisses from my little one at 2am in the morning!
