As the Isofix system continues to grow in popularity with Graco, Dorel, Chicco and now Brio offering this safer  system option inthe UK,  Dorel has recently announced an investment of over one million pounds on its manufacturing capacity for the Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix.  The Group 0+ car seat is hugely popular and the increase is part of Dorel's customer-focused campaign to increase supply and improve service.

Rotating seats have also hit the shops, originally inspired by Aprica's notably expensive version. The Axiss car seat , from Maxi Cosi is literally ‘revolutionary' . The seat turns so it faces out of the car's side door allowing parents to place their child in the seat more easily.  Four years in development, this Group 1 car seat set the pace for competitors in term so of technology and price.

Now Renolux has come up with it's own version. The 360° is a new design that is suitable from birth to 18kg. The joy is that is can turn to allow you to place the child inside and take him or her out.

Ensuring car seats are secured into a car safely is the ongoing industry issue. However, even after overcoming this, there is still a significant risk that the user has not fastened their child into the seat correctly, which can result in the child being in danger in a collision. There are a number of features currently on the market that address this issue.

Britax has recently introduced a 'foolproof' feature called ‘Click & Safe' on their King Plus and Safefix Plus models, with a view to rolling it out across all its car seat products.

Click & Safe is an innovative and simple-to-use safety mechanism developed by Britax, which offers peace of mind for users. To ensure a child is safe and secure in their seat the adjuster strap is pulled forwards and upwards until an audible click signals that the mechanism has tightened the 5-point harness to the correct tension.
