BPA Feedback on Harrogate Nursery Fair
Published:  22 May, 2008

The BPA reports that challenges and concerns for manufacturers and retailers in the nursery sector were hot topics for people visiting the Baby and Products Association's (BPA) stand at the recent Harrogate Nursery Fair.

There was much interest in the Association's commitment to raising standards and acting as the voice for the industry. In particular the lobby to reduce VAT on ISOFIX bases and to bring the UK's regulations for nursery equipment in line with that of the EU.

Many new retailers enquired about BPA Retail membership, recognising that by joining forces with others, they act as a united front in promoting best practice. BPA membership reinforces the importance of buying baby goods from reputable sources with knowledge and understanding of their product range and highlights the dangers of purchasing second hand equipment.

With the introduction of five new categories to this year's Baby & Child Recognition Awards (BACRAs) including In Car, In Home, Playtime, Wheeled Good and Accessories and Innovative Product, manufacturers were pleased at the chance to gain prestigious recognition. Entries are already starting to flow in.

Two other BPA Award schemes; BPA Concept 2008, which recognises innovative new designs and inventions within the nursery sector and also Nursery Retailer of the Year Awards are both open for entries.

For more information about entering any of the BPA Awards or if you are interested in membership services, please call the Baby Products Association on 0845 456 9
