Car Seats continue to push the boundaries of technology year on year but how familiar are you with what the law requires?
Published:  22 May, 2008

In this issue you can catch up with what's going on in the realm of car seats on p19, and make sure you and your staff are well up on advice cots and mattresses, see p29. It's always useful to be as informed as possible and parents appreciate that extra information surrounding these major product buys.

After a busy show in Yorkshire everyone seems to be excited with interest shown in a wide variety of products. See how some of our friends in the industry got on in our review pages on p32. It's show time again soon at the NEC in Birmingham from 16th - 18th May which promises to be even more well-attended than last year, plus if you're looking for top end gifts and presents, be sure to put Summer Fair in your diary from 22nd - 25th June at Excel, London. Mother & Baby magazine is in the final stages of seeking out the top parenting products of 2008. You can enter products in almost any category now by just going to www.motherandbaby/awards but be sure to do it before 23rd May.

Plus we've looked into the controversy surrounding supermarket baby rice, which is giving cause for concern at Aberdeen University. Despite being in line with current EU law one professor is extremely concerned about the safety implications - see page 16.

P.S: We're on the look out for independent product experts to give comments! Just get in touch via emma.peters3@btinternet.com, and do keep sending in those news stories and staff announcements.
