mums-to-be choosing Bump Belt to help protect unborn children
Published:  16 July, 2008

Clippasafe, the leading child safety manufacturer for over 50 years, has revealed that the innovative Bump Belt is one of its best-selling products over the first six months of this year.

The main reasons for this, says Roger Cheetham, Clippasafe managing director and child safety expert, is that mums-to-be are becoming more and more aware of the dangers of being in a car while pregnant.

Roger said: "Figures show that pregnant women face a 40 to 50 per cent risk of having a miscarriage if they suffer from serious injuries in a car crash. Even if the crash or injuries are minor, there's still up to a five per cent chance of losing the unborn child according to thinkroadsafety.gov.uk."

"With the number of casualties on our roads increasing, mums-to-be are advised to be cautious as they travel throughout their pregnancy to avoid becoming a national statistic for both their own and their baby's safety."

Clippasafe's innovative Bump Belt helps protect the unborn baby and mother-to-be whilst travelling by car. When correctly fitted, the Bump Belt secures the lap portion of the seatbelt in a position underneath the pregnancy bump and across the thighs, ensuring that it doesn't ride up over the abdomen. If a minor accident occurs or the driver has to brake suddenly, the Bump Belt ensures that the lap belt transfers the impact through the hips and pelvis instead of the womb.
