Judged on quality, value, ethics and all green credentials, the Wilkinet carrier was given a near perfect total score of  9.4 out of 10, beating three other organic baby carriers to first place.

SmartPlanet praised the Wilkinet for its comfortable design and for excellent company and product ethics.  ‘All in all, this sling is pretty perfect.', it concluded.

Wilkinet's Fair-trade Organic Baby Carrier is made using SKAL certified Organic Cotton which is dyed and woven by a Fairtrade Foundation co-operative in India.  The sling is made in the UK and packaged using 100% recycled printed boxes.

To capitalise on the endorsement, Wilkinet will be creating new in-store point of sale posters and stickers for retailers.

Launched in March this year, Smartplanet.com is part of the CNET Network and is backed by a heavyweight editorial board that boasts the likes of the MD of Lush and representatives from the Fairtrade Foundation and Friends of the Earth.  As part of their rigorous testing process, brands must send in samples, provide certification and complete company profile surveys.
