Nursery Industry
Welcome
Published:  11 September, 2008

It's all systems go at Cologne this month and the show is bigger than ever before. With increasing size and number of exhibitors, there will be no holes bars as all the major names in the nursery trade and many smaller ones, impress and entice you to take on their new baby ranges. See our preview pages on page 27 for more.

Looking ahead Christmas toys provide a great reason for consumers to spend money in the next few months, so catch our glimpse of top toys available this year in ‘sensible' price brackets, starting on page 19. Also in this issue, on page 24, we say ‘hello' to NiPeople, a new feature devoted to individuals with interesting and inspiring stories that we think you'll be glad you got to know. This month we get positive with Clare Davies, a life coach who explains how this emerging form of ‘tutored support', is just the thing to pull you out of a mental cul-de-sac and take you to where you really want to be.

Catherine Payne is a new face on our panel of experts who brings her creative flair together with nursery know-how, to build brands that stand out. In TradeTalk on page 16, she says now is the time to ensure your logo and company ‘identity' is communicating what you want.

Finally just have a quick click at www.thefixuk.co.uk who are doing their best to get us up and active in an attempt to combat childhood obesity. You'll find me on Epsom Downs Racecourse on Sunday 19th October running 5km to support them in their cause and raise a few pounds for charity. All donations welcome, please email me at emmapeters@talktalk.net.

Enjoy Cologne!
