Children’s TV presenter Dave Benson-Phillips is returning to open the Childcare and Nursery Show for a second year because he enjoyed it so much the first time, organisers have revealed.
“I’m really glad to be part of the show, it’s a truly impressive event and it’s good to know that the important job of helping children become people is being done so well, by so many. I believe that a good start to a child’s life is vital and the fact that there are so many people who realise this and want to offer services to this market is a really good thing,” said Dave. “As a children’s entertainer I know that children learn through having fun. A lot of people involved in the show are promoting learning through play and music and I think this is really important in helping with children’s development in the future,” he added.
Organisers of this year’s Childcare and Nursery Show are reporting a surge in uptake amongst exhibitors and delegates alike. With less than four weeks to go, businesses are still booking space on a daily basis. Pre-registration figures for delegates are double those of this time last year.
Due to the success of last year’s show, this year’s event had already been relocated to London’s Olympia to accommodate the additional exhibition stands, features and buyers planned. Taking place on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th June 2009 the show now looks set to be bigger than ever.
Managing Director Lorne Cheetham of organisers Ocean Events has noticed an increased interest in the childcare and nursery sector, “This year we’ve seen a lot of new businesses joining the market and more established businesses diversifying into it and this development is reflected amongst the exhibitors”.
The show offers a host of exciting features. New this year is The Childcare Company’s ‘A Space to Learn’ feature. This takes as its starting point the concept of the exploration of space, the universe and the future under the title ‘Out of this World’. There will be opportunities to interact with the Space to Learn and to take part in child centred and adult initiated experiences, all focused upon children’s learning.
This year, also for the first time, The Childcare and Nursery Show has organised a schedule of seminars and meetings which will take place over the event’s two day stay at Olympia. The seminars, covering a variety of stimulating topics will be delivered by industry specialists who have first hand practical experience of working within the childcare industry. In between each of the twelve 30 minute talks there will be opportunities for people to mingle and chat with childcare assessors about training issues and opportunities.
The range of exhibitors is vast, with every conceivable need of nurseries and childminders catered for. Several of the exhibitors will be launching new products and the majority are planning discounts, prize drawers and competitions.
