Cuddledry featured in the first episode of ‘Dragons Den on Tour' last month - a new series which looks at how entrepreneurs who have faced the dragons are faring. Having turned down three offers of investment from the dragons in 2006, Cuddledry is one business which has gone on to prove that you can do it by yourself. With one in every 20 babies in the UK now being bathed with a Cuddledry apron-style baby bath towel, and the ever-expanding range of Cuddledry towelling, bath, beach and swim time products being sold in 30 countries, it seems the dragons are missing out.
In fact both James Caan and Deborah Meaden - who feature Cuddledry in their books - have been quoted in the media recently as saying that Cuddledry is one business they would have really liked to work with.
Helen and Polly, who started the company two and half years ago, say they have no regrets about turning down the investment, but that the Den was still a fantastic experience and they learned a huge amount whilst they were under fire! You can read more about their experience on their website www.cuddledry.com.
Also featured in the programme were other nursery industry businesses Trunki and On Target - both of whom are also doing extremely well.
