Choosing the Best Car Seat
Published:  08 February, 2010

Safety is number one priority when parents purchase car seats. From birth to 12 years or 135cm (UK) and 150cm (ROI), which ever comes first, it is a legal requirement for children to be seated in a car seat or booster. The most important aspect when selecting a car seat is the child’s weight, this is because each car seat is specifically designed to provide maximum safety for a given weight range.

Group 0+ (0-12 months)

There is a Graco car seat for every step of a child’s development including the Logico S HP, which is designed from birth to 13kg to give optimum safety and comfort for newborns with features including side impact protection, a 5 point safety harness and a correct position indicator to let parents know when the seat is perfectly fitted.

Group 0+1 (0-4 years) and 123 (9 months - 12 years)

The Graco range also has a Group 0+1 seat, the Junior Mini, which can be used from birth to 18kg, perfect for children that need an ‘in between’ seat. The Nautilus is a Group 123 that grows with the child from 9-36kg with an adjustable headrest and harness.

Group 2-3 (around 4 to 12 years)

For older children (15-36kg) Graco offers a wide range of high-back booster seats that are packed with safety and comfort features including the Logico L which has patented ‘Graco Pedic Memory Foam’ that moulds to the shape of a child’s body.
