Award-winning year for Weybury Hildreth
Published:  28 September, 2010

The team at Weybury Hildreth is popping champagne corks in celebration for the second time in as many months, having just scooped three coveted Gold Awards in the 2010 Practical Pre-school Awards for its PurFlo Mattress, Koo-di Fridge-to-go and Samsonite 360 Manbag.

The PurFlo mattress, which recently won the Innovation Award at 10th Child, Baby and Maternity Expo in Shanghai, received 97.3% – one of the highest scores in the Practical Pre-School Awards – with one tester commenting: “This cot mattress is amazing! How great that it can be washed in the machine and tumble-dried. I really liked the fact that dust mites would be greatly reduced for babies with allergies and the hollow nature of the mattress means that baby is kept much cooler and also prevents them from rolling onto their front. It reduces parents worry about cot death and is perfect for travelling too – you just fold it up and take it with you. Top marks!”

Gail and Paul Whale, creators of PurFlo, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have received two prestigious Awards in such a short space of time. We designed the PurFlo mattress as a result of baby health scares in the early 1990s when our own daughter was born and welcome this recognition which highlights the huge health benefits of PurFlo for all babies.”

The Samsonite 360 Manbag has also enjoyed the limelight since its launch in July, not only achieving a score of 95% to gain a Gold Award in the Practical Pre-school Awards, but was also short-listed for the Kind und Jugend Innovation Award.

The new Koo-di Fridge-to-go – which is a cooling bag using patented chilling technology to refrigerate for up to six hours – completes the hat trick of Gold Practical Pre-school Awards, with one tester stating: “Amazing! Unlike many other coolers, this product does exactly what it says on the tin!”
