Lord Sugar’s search for a new business partner went international last week as both teams headed to France to test their sales skills in a foreign market. Team Venture were the ones who got their hands on the ingenious BoostApak from Trunki - a backpack-come-car booster seat – as their product to represent the best of British design.
The multi-award winning product sold out within four hours of being released back in 2010. Certainly, major French retailer, La Redoute, could see the potential and expressed a genuine interest in BoostApak placing a provisional order for no less than €214,000 - the largest order to ever grace the Apprentice boardroom. Lord Sugar himself said it was a great product, and father of one Dara O’Briain referred to the product as ‘genius’ on You’re Fired.
