Thousands of pounds worth of toys will be donated to Barnardo’s when volunteers take part in a trolley dash at the 2012 Toy Fair.
The children’s charity will be the beneficiary of the exhibition at Olympia’s Grand Hall for the eighth year running.
Around 60 volunteers will collect a variety of toys donated by more than 200 exhibitors which will be distributed to the charity’s London, east, and south-east services.
Ray Ellis, Toy Fair Co-ordinator, has said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to collect donations of top-quality toys for some of the charity’s services.
“The generosity of the exhibitors and the hard work of our volunteers will really benefit some of the disadvantaged children and young people we work with.”
Companies ranging from large manufacturers to smaller innovative start-up companies will be attending, including: Bandai, Golden Bear, Playmobil, Character Options, Flair, Hornby, Vivid Toy Group and Lego.
Toy Fair, which will run for three days from January 24th, is the UK’s only dedicated toy, game and hobby trade exhibition and provides a meeting place for the wider industry surrounding play.
