The Toy Retailers Association has kicked off the year by charting a new course for its prestigious Dream Toys media event, held every October, and designed to promote the industry at the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.
After more than eight years it was decided it was time for a new media management partner to take up the challenge in handling PR for the event.
A committee, made up of TRA and BTHA members, saw pitches from three companies at the end of 2012 and a unanimous decision was made to take the event in a new direction with PR support being provided by Bastion.
Bastion has been responsible for the Toy Fair press office for the past six years and it was felt that their fresh ideas combined with a strong understanding of the task, knowledge of the companies involved and the media contacts required provided them with a winning combination.
“Bastion made us feel confident that they have the ideas and the energy to bring a new momentum to Dream Toys and secure us the coverage that the event deserves,” continued Gary.
“We have always coveted the Dream Toys account so we were delighted to be asked to pitch. We feel we have some great ideas for the event and look forward to working closely with the TRA and the exhibitors to make some serious noise at Dream Toys 2013,” commented Bastion’s managing director, Dean Barrett.
More details about Dream Toys 2013 will be announced in the Spring.
