Asobi Crowned as #SBS Winner
Published:  26 February, 2013

There was great excitement at Asobi HQ this Sunday, as the company was given an amazing boost on twitter from none other than Theo Paphitis. The distributor of inspired toys was selected as one of the six lucky winners of his weekly Small Business Sunday’ event, known to twitter as the #sbs awards and could not be happier.

Asobi is a toy distributor and the team are absolutely over the moon with this business boost from the Dragons’ Den star. Last week, Thierry Bourret, owner and founder of Asobi, tweeted Theo about his business during ‘Small Business Sunday’, an initiative set up by Theo that runs weekly.

Theo re‐tweeted Thierry’s message to his 328,905 followers and as a result, the business (http://www.asobi.co.uk/) experienced online madness as they gained hundreds of new followers and many new visitors to their website. They are also profiled on a new website (www.theopaphitissbs.com) that is exclusive to Small Business Sunday winners.

Thierry Bourret commented, “I created Asobi because as a father, I found myself frustrated by the lack of inspiring toys on the market to buy my son that encouraged creativity and ignited the imagination. To gain this support from Theo is just fantastic and will really help raise our profile. As a distributor, Asobi really supports small businesses by selecting independent stores to stock our products. I’m so pleased that Theo has recognised the work we are doing, I think the initiative is a great idea and I really admire that it encourages businesses to support each other.”

Anyone looking for a re‐tweet from Theo should tweet him about their business on Sunday between 5 PM and 7.30 PM and include the hashtag #SBS. Six lucky businesses are re‐ tweeted every Monday at 8 PM and then invited to enter their profile on the new website. This is done free of charge and the new website is sponsored by Ryman Stationery, where Theo is Chairman.
