HARROGATE Review
The 2008 Nursery Fair in Harrogate housed more exhibitors than ever. But what did the people who make the industry think? Here's the feedback from just some of the names we all know
Published:  22 May, 2008

David Smith, Marketing Director of Brother Max:

‘Harrogate offered a fantastic trade platform to introduce the Brother Max brand to the industry.  It is the first time many in the sector have seen the breadth of our product range and provided an enjoyable networking opportunity with colleagues, competitors and important trade customers.  But this is only the start of an exciting product development programme for Brother Max.  Watch this space for more of our genuinely innovative product launches."

Louise Jones, Marketing Manager at Graco:

‘As always it was great to see our retailers at the show and it was a good chance to get feedback on the new additions to the Graco product range. What I really love about the show is the opportunity to get one-to-one time with our retailers so we can get an update on their businesses and talk about what is currently working well for them, as well as how we support and grow our business together.

Jill Holland, Marketing Manager at Kuster says:

This was the first year Kuster exhibited at the Nursery Fair and it proved to be a huge success. We had a broad spectrum of visitors to our stand, from the majors down to the smaller independent retailers. We have certainly been kept busy since returning from the show dispatching orders and following up sales leads.

Sarah Bullock, UK Territory Sales Manager at Prince Lionheart

‘Harrogate has always been a great show for Prince Lionheart and this year was no exception!  With good attendance, a record number of orders placed, new accounts opened together with very positive feedback from all our visitors, Harrogate 2008 was once again a very worthwhile experience for Prince Lionheart.  We are already looking forward to even better things in 2009.'

Martyn Still, UK Sales Manager at Concord:

‘Harrogate was a great show for CONCORD, we always take a huge amount of orders at this show but this year we were amazed by the demand for the NEO Carbon. At a time when many retailers are reducing their stock we sold them the most exclusive travel system in the UK. It is a high end product and in a class of its own and retailers are confident their customers will pay a premium for innovative design and quality."

Helen Wooldridge, Marketing Director of Cuddledry says:

‘Cuddledry showed their flair for quality and design once again at Harrogate, with the launch of their new toddler bathtime products.  The ‘Cuddlemoo' and ‘Cuddlebugs' form a funky addition to their range, which is led by their flagship product - the award-winning Original Cuddledry baby apron bath towel - as seen on BBC Dragons Den. The new products were well-received with interest from large and small companies alike'.

Account Manager UK and Ireland, Rob Harley from Teutonia says:

‘Harrogate provided us with a fantastic opportunity to introduce the Teutonia brand and team to all of those retailers who had missed us at the NEC last year. It was also great to catch up with some of our existing retailers and obtain their invaluable feedback on their experience with our range of wheeled goods so far, whilst also filling them in on our exciting plans for the year ahead.

In addition, the show offered the ideal occasion for retailers to try our products out for themselves, and really get a feel for what Teutonia is all about, particularly the quality and precision engineering that the brand prides itself on. Overall, the show was a great success, and we received some fantastic feedback on the product range from retailers and visitors alike.

Martin Broyle, Commercial Director of iCandy and Little Shield says:

‘We always love going to Harrogate and it was great to see so many iCandy stockists there.  It was also a fantastic opportunity to welcome new stockists to the stand, so we could show them all the latest products from both iCandy and Little Shield. We had so many rave reviews of both collections and our dramatic high rise stand design, and of course not forgetting the delicious selection of sweets that were on offer!  Judging from the reaction at Harrogate the number one question out there is when can we see the forthcoming iCandy Peach?'

Magnus Smyth, Director of Tots Bots

Harrogate was fantastic. Our new products went down really well with both existing and new customers. With Flexitot, carrier and 3 in 1 potty being the stars of the show.
